Dynamic vs Swivel Drop LegUpdated 6 days ago

We have two different Drop Leg options that fit a wide variety of our holster series; Swivel Drop Leg and Dynamic Drop Leg.  This article will cover the differences and compatibility options for each.

Both holsters will connect to the belt the same way with the Locking Belt Slide and have the same ride height bars and standard leg strap.

The Swivel Drop Leg was developed first, solely for our Rapid Force Duty Holster series to provide a rugged option for military and law enforcement application.

The Swivel Drop Leg has a minimalist design with a small footprint- less than 4.5 inches at the widest point across.  Swivel Drop Leg uses the three hole bolt pattern unique to the Rapid Force Duty Holster series. The Swivel Drop Leg is offered as complete holsters in both Cloak Mod and ShapeShift series and uses an adapter plate to go from the three hole Rapid Force pattern to the four hole pattern used in those series. ShapeShift has the optional Expansion Pack if a Shift Shell is already owned. ShapeShift Swivel Drop Legs use the ShapeShift holster mount system for easy interchange instead of the Rapid Force series' Quick Disconnect System (QDS). Check out this article for more information on the adapter plate used on these systems.

The Dynamic Drop Leg is wider to accommodate additional accessories.  The thigh plate is less than 8 inches wide. The accessory mounts can accommodate our Cloak Mag Buckets with the included hardware, or many other accessories from flashlights and pepper spray to tourniquet holders. These accessories can be mounted with the universal hole pattern that works with most products, or a custom pattern can be made.  Please check out this article for more information on the accessory mounts.

The Dynamic Drop Leg incorporates both the three hole pattern used in Rapid Force and the four hole pattern used for Cloak Mod and ShapeShift series.  This means that Cloak Mod holsters can be directly mounted to the Dynamic Drop Leg without the use of a QDS, or ShapeShift's Holster Mount can be used directly without using an adapter plate.

Currently, Dynamic Drop Leg is sold as an "expansion pack" rather than as a full holster. Tan is an option with the Dynamic Drop Leg, as is the option to upgrade the leg strap to the Taq-Strap.
