Sig Sauer P365 VariantsUpdated 10 days ago
Sig P365 variants can be confusing, especially since many models share similar markings and several include an “X” on the slide. This guide provides a clear breakdown of key differences between common P365 models to help ensure the correct holster is selected.
If you are unsure which model you own, the SKU on your firearm’s box will match the model information listed on the manufacturer’s website: https://www.sigsauer.com/

P365X
- The P365X uses the standard P365 slide and barrel length paired with the “X” grip module.
- Like other variants, it will have an “X” marking on the slide, which can cause confusion when comparing models.
- The P365X is not the same as the X‑Macro, and X‑Macro holsters will not fit the P365X.
- Barrel Length: 3.1 inches
- Holster Compatibility: Shares the same holster fitment as the standard P365.

P365XL
Newer versions of the P365XL no longer have “XL” marked on the slide. Instead, they display only the “X,” and the optic sits in front of the rear iron sight. Earlier versions of the P365XL were easier to identify because they had “XL” clearly printed on the slide.
Although the X‑Macro shares the same slide length as the P365XL, the frames are different, and X‑Macro pistols will NOT fit P365XL holsters.
There was also an earlier P365XL configuration in which the rear iron sight was removed when installing an optic, which affects holster compatibility for certain older models.
- Barrel Length: 3.7 inches

P365 XMacro
The P365 XMacro is not the same as the P365X, and holsters for the XMacro are specifically labeled for the XMacro. These holsters will not fit the P365, P365X, or P365XL due to the XMacro’s unique frame design.
Although the XMacro will have an “X” marking on the slide—just like several other P365 variants—it shares the same slide length as the P365XL. The key difference is the frame, which is larger and features a 1913 accessory rail, making the XMacro easy to distinguish from the P365X or P365XL.
If a firearm originally had a P365XL slide but the frame was swapped to an XMacro frame, the holster selection should still be based on the XMacro frame, not the slide.
The XMacro lineup includes:
- 17‑round magazines (standard)
- 10‑round magazines for restricted states
Barrel Lengths:
- 3.7 inches — Standard XMacro and XMacro Tac Ops
- 3.1 inches — XMacro Comp
All XMacro variants share the same slide length and therefore use the same holster fitment
